A big thank you to @bbcradiowales who have just run a phone-in item completely devoted to bread.
It’s a great illustration of the fact that people are increasingly tuning in to what #realbread can offer in terms of freshness and quality and, of course, the health agenda in the context of growing discussion about ultra-processed bread and the amount of preservatives and additives it contains.
Presenter John Paul Davies, sitting in for Dot Davies, led a whole segment discussion and phone in on what people thought of bread, and I was lucky enough to be able to contribute.
I think I managed to whet his appetite by talking about some of the ingredients and flavours you can get into bread when you’re a home baker! It’s a fascinating world I entered almost 20 years ago and have been baking bread several times a week ever since. Give me 10 minutes and I’ll show you how you can do it too!
My breadmaking classes are now up and running every Tuesday and Saturday so if you fancy joining me and three others for a full day of baking (and eating!) a range of great breads that you can easily make with everyday ingredients you can find in store cupboards, corner stores or supermarkets – get in touch.
